Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
At IDAD, we believe that democratic governance must reflect the diversity of the people it serves. Inclusion is not a programme - it is the foundation of everything we do.
About Us
At IDAD, we believe that democratic governance must reflect the diversity of the people it serves. Inclusion is not a programme - it is the foundation of everything we do.
IDAD Liberia is committed to building an organisation that reflects the diversity, equity, and inclusion principles we advocate for in governance.
We actively recruit and retain staff, fellows, and partners from diverse ethnic, regional, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We believe diverse teams produce better outcomes for the communities we serve.
We work to remove systemic barriers that prevent women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalised communities from accessing governance processes, legal systems, and civic participation.
We ensure that our programmes, research, and advocacy create space for all voices - particularly those historically excluded from Liberia's democratic institutions and decision-making processes.
We target 50% women across our staff, fellowship cohorts, and governance training programmes.
At least 40% of our Democracy Fellows and programme participants are aged 18-35.
We prioritise underserved rural counties and ensure our programmes reach citizens beyond Monrovia.
All IDAD publications, events, and civic education materials are designed for accessibility.
